Bio Oil

Has anyone out there ever heard of Bio Oil. The oil is supposed to remove scars. I bought this product a few months back to get rid of some scars on my legs but I was not very good with keeping up with applying it morning and night. I think that I am going to start using this product again. If I recall correctly it was not cheap. Let me know if any of you have used this product and how it worked for you.

Lancome Le Crayon Khol review

This review will be short, sweet, and to the point. I HATE this eye liner. I think that this eyeliner looks messy and not even half way through the day gives you that raccoon look. I am sorry if this post upsets anyone who may happen to like this eyeliner but I simply hate it. I was just think about the fact that I have not been able to find this liner lately and I am actually HAPPY about it. I am never happy about losing anything, however, losing this eye liner makes me happy because if I knew where it was I just might be tempted to use it again simply because I personally have a problem with using a product just because it is there and ignoring what it does to me. Do not buy this eye liner!

Simonie : )
p.s. I was suprised that I did not like this eye liner because I like most of Lancome's products, just not this liner...and their brushes, (but that is another story.)

Don't all girls like to play dress up?

Weekend before last a good friend of mine had a birthday dinner. I loooovvvee going out to dinner with my friends and I especially love small dinner parties. I enjoy getting all dolled up to go out and just talk and have fun. I just thought that I would share this picture of me that I took before I left for the party. I wore my favorite pair of brown boots and a really cute sweater blouse (that you can not see because I am wearing my white Pea Coat, silly me!). I had on my favorite pair of dark blue jeans and my hair looked really cute. I wish that I would have gotten a close up picture of my eyes because this is the day that I went to Sephora and I used all of my new product this night. Tell me if you like the outfit.

Finally a Kajal eyeliner review!

A while ago I told you all about the Kajal eyeliner by Stila that I got at Sephora. I used it for about two days and then I somehow lost it in Patty's car. lol. Today, a week later, I figured that it was most likely still in her car and that I should go look, and low and behold there it was in between the car seats. I was so happy to be reunited with it. I will start using this liner pencil again tomorrow.

So far I really like this liner and I like how it is easy to smudge right after you apply it so that it does not leave a harsh line, but it it also does not run underneath my eyes through out the day. I got it in Smokey Quartz which is a deep gray and I really like it. I have always used black and this is a little softer and I believe it creates a smokier look. Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and since I go to Catholic school we will have a liturgy. Liturgies are fun because everyone gets dressed up and secretly tries to out do the next person. Liturgy days are like a big fashion show, and I have my make-up look for tomorrow's walk down the run-way all planned out. haha.

I will have to use the liner for a few more days before I can do a comparative review but that is definitely coming!

Just wondering...

I washed my hair tonight and I was just thinking about how my hair can really get on my nerves sometimes. I am thankful for my hair. I know that there are so many amazing women out there who suffer from cancer and end up loosing their hair in chemo treatments who wish that they had their hair back. In this world with all of its problems hair is so trivial but I can not help but get so angry over my own. I have extremely thick and curly hair and the one thing that I hate about it is that by the end of the day it is completely frizzed out. I do not like putting a lot of product in my hair because I do not like for it feel heavy. I love my natural curls but I am looking for a way to have my hair lay down flat without ever having to use gel. I am trying a few different things but if anyone knows the trick to handling frizz PLEASE let me know.

Here are the pictures.

Here are the pictures from the last post, my computer keeps messing up so I could not get the pictures and the written post all in one. Sorry.

It's crafts time again!

I did another cute little crafts project today. After washing my brushes I decided to paint the tops of the handles. A lot of free-lance make-up artist do this so that their brushes do not get confused with other people's brushes. I do not do free-lance work but it just seemed like a fun project to do this evening before the OSCARS. I took pictures every step of the way to show how I did this. What you will need for this project is nail polish, your brushes, and scotch tape.
Here are the steps:

1. Tape your brushes about an inch down from the top of the handle.

2. Paint from the top of the tape up to the tip.

3. Let paint dry.

4. Remove the tape.

You can use whatever nail polish you like. Whatever color you use make sure that it is one that you can remember so that you can easily identify yours. Like I said before you do not need a reason to do this other than you want to. I also have friends with brush sets and I do not want for mine to get confused with theirs.

Benefit creaseless cream shadow/liner review

In an earlier post I was talking about the free gift I got from Sephora with my beauty insider card. I got this cream eye shadow/ liner from Benefit that I mentioned I thought strongly resembled painterly paintpot from M.A.C. I was so excited to get this because I was wanting a light colored base just like this one. When applied all the way up to the brow bone underneath shadow this color is very beautiful. I usually NEVER apply color all the way up to the brow bone because I simply do not think that it looks good on me. This color is subtle and not over bearing. I think that if one wanted to do dramatic or think eyeliner one day they could use this color alone and then apply the liner so that they would not have a look of a heavy liner as well as a heavy shadow. The only thing that I do not like about this shadow is the fact that it smells horrible. The smell is enough to make one not even want to use it, however, do not count it out, give it a shot! Once you have used it you will learn to ignore the smell.

Smashbox bionic mascara review

Last night was my friend's birthday dinner and it was also the first time that I used my new mascara. In my last post I told you all what the mascara was supposed to be able to do, the mascara being the bionic mascara by Smashbox. I was amazed by this mascara! I did not think that it was going to work as well as it did. I applied two coats of the product on my lashes and they looked sooooo long. I went to show my mom and she thought that I had put on false lashes. I am not going to say that I will never again use any other mascara or that I am not still looking for new mascaras all the time, I am just saying that this mascara keeps its promises. Of course, I did not get the exact look that I wanted from the mascara, however, it came pretty close. I have come to terms with the fact that my expectations for a mascara are way to high. This mascara made my lashes extremely long but it did not really make them any thicker. On a scale from one to ten I would give this mascara a 8.

Just what I've been waiting for...

So I had a four day weekend this weekend and I also got paid! I was not going to let this weekend pass by without having been to Sephora. After Mass this morning I asked my parents if we could stop by sephora so that I could pick up a couple of things and get a present for my friend for her birthday. I knew that there were two things that I needed and a few things that I wanted. I know, I know that the word NEED should not be used when talking about make-up because everything that I need the Lord has already provided for me, and I believe this with all of my heart, however, to a 16 year old girl make-up can sometimes seem like a necessity. : ). When I walked into Sephora I knew that I was looking for a mascara and the kajal eyeliner from Stila. I found a chart with about 20 mascaras on it and a key at the top telling you wahat each one could do. I was looking for a mascara that would be thickening, legthening, and seperating. Many did one or two of the three but I saw one that did all three. When I went into the store I was planning on purchasing Givenchy Phenomen' eyes mascara. When I looked at the chart it did not do all of the things that I needed it to do for me as a mascara, and it was also a little more than I wanted to spend. After talking to the extremely sweet woman who was working there I decided on the Bionic Mascara by smasbox. This mascara was $19.00 which was just the right price. I was so excited. One product down and one to go. I went to the Stila section and the woman who was over there told me that I would probably like the liner in smokey quartz. After she did a swatch on my hand I was sold. The eye liner was $18.00. I ended up buying those two products and with my beauty insider card I was eligible for a free gift. I got a creaseless cream shadow/liner by benefit which resembels painterly paint pot by M.A.C., which was going to be my next purchase, so I am very excited that I got that as a gift. I am going out tonight for a friend's birthday dinner so I will be using all three of these products. I can not wait to try them and do some review! My next purchase will be something by the Hello Kitty collection at M.A.C.

p.s. I am sorry that I have not been blogging a lot lately, I have just been really busy with school, but I am back and I am excited!

I did it!

I finally did it. I finally tried NARS! Yesterday my daddy took me to the city and I got to go and get my make-up done at the NARS counter. I was going to an event later in the evening so I got to have my make-up done for that. I loved how the products felt and how they looked on my skin. Everything was so light weight and I could not even feel it on my skin. I love how pigmented their eye shadows are. I loved the colors that she used on my eyes so much that my dad was kind enough to buy me a duo. I am hooked on this line now and will definitely be purchasing more from them when I get the chance. The woman gave me a sheet with all of the products that she used on me and I will slowly be purchasing them. I could not be happier with the eye shadows that I got. I can't believe that I finally did it!

These are the pictures

Arts and crafts time!

As pictured to the right I made a brush holder. I had been wanting to make this for a while now and I thought that I was going to have to spend some money that I should be saving and go buy all of these supplies. I can say that I was plesantly suprised when I realized that all of the materials that I needed were already in my house! My mother had a surgery a few weeks ago and she has gotten loads of flowers and so we had tons of vases. My dad had some container from who knows where with marbles in it and then I just found some ribbon that was lying around the house. The only materials that are needed to make this are a vase, shape does not matter, but it must be short, marbles or even tiny rock or stones will do, rice works also, ribbon, and all of your make-up brushes. I do not have many brushes because I am not a person who loves to get new brushes and likes to have duplicates of one brush. I just have a few eye shadow brushes, that is including crease brushes and highlighter brushes, my foundation and powder brushes, a concealer brush, a blush brush, and an angled eyeliner brush. For those people who have way more brushes than me one vase may not be enough. I have seen a few people do different variations of this brush holder and some people have two or even three of them. All that is done is marbles are put inside of a vase about half way to 3/4 of the way full and the brushes are stuck down into it. Depending on what is put in the vase will determine how well the brushes stand up and stay up. The ribbon is simply for decoration and serves no purpose however, I think that it is fun to pick out a ribbon and tie a pretty bow onto your vase! Before I made this all of my brushes were all over the place and this is great for organization purpose, not to mention it is super cute! I had fun making this and I would recommend this for a fun little project. Everyone should just remember to check around your house before going out and purchasing all of these materials because you will most likely have them already! Happy crafting!

A product that doesn't test on animals!? Sounds like my kind of make-up!

Has anyone heard of the brand e.l.f. (eyes, lips, face)? I had heard about this brand a while back but did not think anything about it. I just found out that almost everything on their web-site is only a dollar. they have eye shadows for a dollar, lashes, brushes and much more. These products are also not tested on animals and if you purchase a set of free tweezers for $10, 50% of the proceeds will go to PeTA!!! I am really thinking about trying out some of their products. You can't go wrong with products at a dollar! If anyone has tried these products let me know what you think about them.

HiP-high intensity pigments color truth cream eyeliner review

I have been watching tons of YouTube videos by tons of make-up lovers and gurus just for fun for a while now, (I look at a few different videos everyday, I am addicted) when I began realizing that a product everyone universally liked was this eye liner. In my earlier post I was talking about how I was on a quest to find the perfect shampoo, but I have been on the quest to find the perfect eyeliner for much longer. I want a liner that is long lasting and does not smudge. I had heard a lot of my friends saying that M.A.C. fluidline was very good so I went to check it out. However, after watching more videos and realizing that I really did not want to spend that much money on a product that I was not even sure if I would like, I made a trip to Long's Drugs. I was so shocked when I saw the sign saying HiP products buy one get one free. I believe that the eyeliner was $11.99, but then I got another one for free! I know that some may say it was not free because you still had to buy one, but I guess I am just a sucker for a buy one get one free sign. I was sooo happy that I found such a good value. I got one in brown and one in black, and I wish that I would have gotten it in a more exciting color rather than brown. I believe the colors that they have are brown, black, teal, midnight blue, and eggplant. I got this eyeliner a few weeks back so unfortunately the sale is over. : ( I apply the liner with my M.A.C. 266 brush which is just a angled brush and I usually use it on my top lash line, and use a black eye shadow on my bottom water line. I will admit that I do not use the liner on my bottom lash line or water line because the look was too harsh for me, and it seemed to smudge. Another downside is that the brush that the eyeliner comes with is extremely harsh, even after washing and it seemed to really irritate my eyelid. The brush seemed like it was cutting the outer corner of my eye, so if you do use this product I would recommend using a different brush. One other thing to keep in mind is that a little bit goes a very long way with this eyeliner. On a one to ten scale I would give this product a seven, but I am still looking for the perfect no smudge pencil. If anyone knows of one PLEASE let me know.

Should I buy into the hype?

So I have just been getting into the whole idea of needing a primer for my eyes before I apply my eye shadow. I realized that my eye shadow was not even lasting half of the and all of the color would become gross and would crease. I went to the M.A.C. store and I asked them what I could use as a base for my eye shadow and they recommended a paint pot. After I purchased the paint pot I started to research more bases and I realized that they are in a way broken up into three groups. There are cream shadows, primers such as M.A.C. prep and prime and urban decay primer potion, and then there are bases such as paints and paint pots. At first I knew that the paint pot made a difference, but it also has color so it changes the color of my eye shadow. I do not want the color of my shadow to change I just want for it to stay on. I am afraid that I am going to get too caught up in the whole shadow base phenomenon and waste a lot of money on a bunch of different bases. What do you think? Do you think that a base really makes a difference?

On a quest to find the perfect shampoo

Lately I have been on a quest to find the perfect shampoo for my hair. I recently took a close look at the end of my hair and I saw that my ends are EXTREMELY split. My hair is about four inches past my shoulder blades when it is straight. So here is my dilemma: I want to find a shampoo and conditioner that will heal my split ends so that I do not have to cut it. My hair grows. However, it grows very slowly. Patty and I have the same goal where we both want to get our hair very long. I need a conditioner right away because I am washing my hair and leaving it natural without putting any heat in it. I have extremely thick and curly hair so it takes a lot of conditioner for just one washing. I have tried just about every shampoo for split ends but most of them were a bust. A shampoo that really helped at the time was Garnier Fructis. This shampoo healed my split ends as well as made my hair grow. However, after using it for a while it stopped working on my hair. I want long hair so that I can do a lot of different styles with it. I OF COURSE looooovvveee Kim's hair and want my hair to have some of the qualities that her hair does, but I also like other styles. See the pictures of Lauren London, Cassie, Carrie Underwood, and Taylor Swift. I do know that some of these ladies wear hair extensions, but I would like my natural length to match their length with the extensions.
