Make new friends but keep the old, one is silver, and the other's gold.

Hey guys!

Every morning when I am doing my hair I reach for my old, true, and loyal friend.

My "Lady Catherine" hair brush from Stanley brushes. I have had this brush for about two or three years and I love it. The brush is so sturdy, the bristles are strong, and it really does the job. It seems like all of my female cousins have this brush and it just works on all of our hair.

HOWEVER, for a few years now I have been seeing and hearing about the "Mason Pearson" boar bristle hair brush. I have heard really good things about this brush and I have wanted it. There is only one problem, the brush is a little pricey. I was thinking about asking my parents for one for Christmas, but with the economy in such bad shape, I feel bad asking for such an expensive hair brush when I have a perfectly good one.

The large brush runs for $151.00 and the detangling comb is $26.00.

Should I try something new, or stick with what I know works???

The "Lady Catherine" runs for $16.49 from the Fuller Brush Company.

Lashes that kill

Hey guys!

A few weeks ago my mom and i went to Sephora because she said she was going to get me a new make up product as a small gift. I really needed a new mascara so I went over to what I like to call their "amazing wall of mascara." At Sephora they have a guide on the wall listing around 20 mascaras and what each does.

I like mascara that thickens and lengthens. I had heard a lot of good things about "Make up forever smoky lash." I looked at the guide and it told me that the mascara does everything that I want so I decided to try.

And I LOVE it!!

The mascara gives a really dramatic look, which I love! The brush is made out of thick plastic squared out bristles.

Overall I love the product, but there is one problem, the product is very thick which makes it difficult to remove.

On a scale from 1 to 10 I would rate this product an 8 and a half.

Sip Sip hooray

Hey guys!

I drink A LOT of tea. I am not a fan of coffee, but I love tea. One of my favorite tea stores is "Lupicia." I get so excited when Christmas time comes around because they come out with their line of Christmas teas. My favorite is their "White Christmas" black tea. The tea is a mix of white chocolate and apricot. I love this tea because not only does it smell amazing but the taste doesn't have the strong, sometimes bitter taste of black tea.

As you pull the cup to your mouth you get to smell the amazing white chocolate scent that is just amazing!

It's like Christmas in a cup!

If you are a tea lover, I highly recommend this tea, and even if you are a coffee drinker, since this is black tea it might be a little more your speed.

Love at first scent : )

Hey guys!!

So I lovvvveeee candles! My mom gets really scared when I have anything to do with fire so she isn't too keen on me burning candles. I heard A LOT of good things about these candles and I really wanted to get one. After letting my mom see the website and her falling in love with the company herself she ordered me one. You are probably wondering what candles I am talking about...

CANDLES BY VICTORIA!

Now I will admit, I have a little problem. I have a really hard time making decisions for myself. There are like a trillion amazing scents to choose from and I felt like I was going crazy trying to choose one, I didn't want to make the wrong choice. Finally, my mother said "it isn't like this is the last one you will get, just make a choice."

One the website, there is a section of scents called "Lush dupes" and I know that I love Lush's scent "Honey I washed the kids" and Candles by Victoria has one called "Honey I washed the Youngins" so that is the one I picked.

I was so excited when I got my candle, I burned it right away. The scent is AMAZING. The scent is light but it also fills the room. In the box they gave me a tea light sample of "peaches and creme."

Their candles are highly scented and they burn in such a clean way. The company takes candle safety very seriously and sends a sheet with every candle telling you how to burn them and how to be safe.

All in all these are amazing candles and I can't wait to place my next order.

Carrie Underwood-"Play On"

Hey guys!

Ok. So ever since I saw Carrie Underwood's audition for American Idol she has been in my top five list of favorite singers of all time. I want for my voice to have a lot of the qualities that hers has. When I heard that her new CD was out I knew that I had to have it. I got it last week and I have listened to it everyday since. EVERY song on the CD is AMAZING!

There are some really deep songs that will make you think as well as some really fun songs such as "Cowboy Casanova." There are very few CDs that I can listen to all the way through, and this is one. Actually, I feel the same way about her other two CDs.
1
If you don't already have this CD go out and get it. You will love it. Also!!! Watch the CMA awards tonight on ABC @ 8!

Review Time!- "fresh" SUGAR roll-on deodorant

Hey guys!

A week and a half ago my mom went to the store to buy her usual "Clarins" deodorant. However, my mom forgot that Neiman Marcus doesn't sell Clarins and she didn't want to go over to Nordstrom so she decided to try a new deodorant from a new brand. My mom and I had already both tried Clinique and while it is good for sensitive skin, we were not crazy about it.

After asking about different brands the saleswoman told us about "fresh" and since we had used their soaps before we decided to give it a try. This deodorant is AMAZING.

Not only does the deodorant smell amazing but it stays lovely smelling throughout the day. I highly recommend this product if you are a light sweater and just want a nice light scent with you all day.

Neiman Marcus, Jennifer Jones, and "CREED"

Hey Guys!

This weekend my parents and I went to Neiman Marcus in Palo Alto California. The shopping in Palo Alto is amazing so I begged my parents to take me this weekend. We went to Neiman Marcus so that my mom could get some cosmetics. When we were at Neiman Marcus the sweetest lady came over to ask me if I wanted to smell a "CREED" fragrance. I had never heard of CREED but my dad told me that they have been around a very long time, Jennifer later told us over two hundered years, and that they were very fine fragrances. The fragrance I tried by "CREED" is called "Aqua Fiorentina" and it smells AMAZING.

The large bottle is very pricey, 350 dollars to be exact. Maybe if I am a good girl it will be my Christmas present. ;)

Jennifer Jones is the sweetest lady ever, so good at her job and so down to earth, and if you are ever in the Neiman Marcus in Palo Alto, stop by and say hi to her.

"Magic, Mirth, and Mischief!"

Hello darlings!!

Tonight I went to the MAC launch for the new "Magic, Mirth, and Mischief!" with Patty. It was SO much fun! All of the girls who work at MAC were dressed up and there was a model there with "truth or dare" cards for people to play. I set a budget for myself-60 dollars. I knew that I wanted something from the new collection, because I figured as long as I was there for that purpose I might as well get something from that collection.

At the door the people gave everyone who came in a card to write down all of the things that they wanted. What I started out with on my card was: "Lucky number (Frost) nail lacquer", "Midnight Madness (Frost) mineralize eye shadow duo", "Boy Bait (cream) Creamsheen glass", "Cranberry" eye shadow, "Beauty Marked", and "Ambering rose" blush. However, all of these products exceeded the amount I said I was going to spend, 60 dollars, so I ended up leaving with three products that I am very happy about: "Cranberry" eye shadow, "Midnight madness" eye shadow duo, from the collection, and Utter fun lustre lipstick, also from the collection.

There is still more that I want from the collection, but I will just wait until it comes out. Additional AMAZING products from the collection: all of the brush sets, Mineralize blush in "Conjure Up", all of the Mineralize Eye Shadow Duos, and all of the Creamsheen Glasses. I am so happy that I got to go to this event, and Patty and I had a blast! I will make a haul video on my youtube tomorrow, so look out for that.

O.P.I. Matte nail polish.

Hey guys!

Sorry I have been gone for a while, but I am back! I am here to do a review on O.P.I. matte nail polish. Matte is very in right now, and matte nail polish is the newest thing. I love almost everything matte, but I must say that I am not a fan of this nail polish.

The problem with the nail polish is that in order for it to keep its matte look you can't use a base or a top coat. Using either a base or a top coat will make your nail polish shiny and it will be just like any other polish.

This polish doesn't last very long AT ALL! The day after you paint your nails your this polish will already be chipped. The polish has a very cool look to it and I think it looks great. However, the polish doesn't last at all so I really don't think it is worth the eight or so dollars that it cost.

I hope this helps some of you who were interested in this product!

Pictures from after I added the Hair Milk

Carol's Daughter-Hair Milk

Hey Guys!!

Sorry I have been gone for so long. I am back now and I have a review. Yesterday I got Carol's Daughter Hair Milk and I used it today. I have been looking for a product that would tame and moisturize my very curly hair, and my mother heard that this was the best product line for very curly hair. I had been wanting to try these products for a while now and I finally got the chance.

Last night I washed and blow dried my hair in preparation to flat iron it this morning and use the Hair Milk afterwards. This morning it took me two hours to straighten my hair. After straightening my hair I used a dime size of the Hair milk and rubbed it through my hair.

I WAS AMAZED!!!!!

My hair went from dull and flat to shiny and full with body. I was was so impressed with what the Hair Milk did to my hair and how amazing it smelled. I love this product and I can't wait to use it on my hair when my hair is curly.

My NARS day with my mom

Hey Guys!

This weekend I went to the Saks fifth avenue where I live with my mom for her birthday. The NARS counter at Saks had called me about a month ago and told me that they were having a special NARS event and asked me if I wanted to make an appointment. I made two appointments, one for my mom and one for me. When I got the call the person told me that there was going to be a special guest makeup artist in town, which is why they were having the event. I didn't know who the artist was going to be, however, I was excited to find out.

When my mother and I got to the counter one girl got my mother's face primed and ready to and she said another woman would be doing her color. It turns out that the woman who was going to do her color was the guest make up artist, Uzo.

Uzo is the International Lead Make-up Stylist for NARS and she is incredibly talented. Uzo has worked with many celebrities and she is very good at what she does. Uzo was so nice and we were talking and laughing most of the time. My mom and I got really good tips from her and she was so knowledgeable and helpful. Overall I really enjoyed the day and I hope that my mom did too.

Back after sooo long

Hey Guys!

I am so sorry that I have been gone for so long but this past year was very busy. It is now summer and I will be posting a lot more than I have. I thought that it would be great to come back to you guys and have something to share.

I have been looking for a good face scrub for a while now. I have been looking up a lot of different scrubs and one that everyone seems to think is AMAZING is "St. Ives Apricot Scrub." I got the Scrub in the "Invigorating" formula which is made for all skin types and is oil free. The scrub is supposed to "Gently exfoliates to instantly reveal smooth, visibly healthy skin." The scrub has the Allure reader's choice award stamp of approval and Allure is definitely a magazine that I trust so I figured I would give the scrub a try.

I will try the scrub tonight for the first time so I can not give a proper review of the product just yet. However, from just looking at the product I can say it smells GREAT and it is very textured and will be a very good scrub. I have a feeling that i will enjoy this product.

I'm back with a review!

Hey guys!

Last weekend I went to my prom and I had planned to get my makeup done at M.A.C. My appointment was for 3:00 and I was super excited. All of the M.A.C. stores in my area were booked when I made my appointment so my appointment was for a M.A.C. a little ways away. After getting my hair done I realized that I would be cutting it close by going to get my makeup done and then going back home to get dressed and then to my friend's house by 5:30 to get in the limo. After realizing that I did not have enough time I realized that I could do my make-up! I do my makeup well and I like my foundation more than I like M.A.C. foundation. So...

I went to M.A.C., showed the make-up artist a picture of my dress and she showed me to great shadow colors and she told me to use liquid liner, something that I had never used before. I purchased the two shadows and the penultimate liner and...

I AM IN LOVE!!

I always thought that using liquid liner would be so hard but it was really not very difficult and I am so happy I got it.

Do you like liquid liner? What kind do you use?

Apple Juice!!

I have been on a kick to drink more water lately so I take my canteen to school. I could not help but think about how hard it would be for me to give up...

APPLE JUICE!

I loovvee apple juice. I drink a little bottle at school every day and then about two glasses when I get home. I do not know why I love this juice so much but I do. All of my cousins love apple juice. Whenever I go visit my cousins out of state and we go to dinner, we all order apple juice. I guess it is just the family's drink. I had gotten away for apple juice and I was on a cranberry juice kick for a while (cranberry juice cocktail that is) but now I am back. I am going to try to not drink as much apple juice and maybe substitute a glass a day with a glass of water because I know the sugar is bad for my teeth, however it is either Mott's or juicy juice and I am pretty sure they have no added sugar so that makes it ok...doesn't it?

Simone : )

My new plan

Here is the honest to God truth-
On school days I eat breakfast about 4 times a year. That is HORRIBLE I know! The reason is I just don't have time. I am always rushing in the morning. I really want to change my ways and so I have made a resolution...
I am going to make a plan to eat breakfast every morning! I went to bed early last night and I woke up early this morning and I took my time getting ready and I had time to eat and some cushion time to just relax and it felt...
AMAZING!

I love this feeling! Last night I took some allergy medication and it made me sleepy which made it easier for me to fall asleep because I usually have a hard time falling asleep but this helped a lot. I went to the store and bought some Sleepy Time tea today and hopefully this will help me fall asleep tonight and be able to wake up early tomorrow.

Hope I can keep this up!

Simonie : )

P.S. I am also trying to be healthy and get on a new diet plan and not eating breakfast really slows down your metabolism and makes a person gain more weight.

My new found love!

Hey guys!
I am soooo sorry that I have been gone for so long. My life has been so hectic lately and I have been running all over the place like a crazy person, but I am back. Last weekend was my birthday and I must say that it was a good one. My friend who has been my friend for pretty much my whole life went out to dinner with my family which was really fun.

My friend knows me sooo well and her present to me was (drum roll please) a M.A.C. gift card!!! I was sooo excited because I knew that the sugar sweet collection was coming out and that I wanted to get at least one thing from it (I am trying to cut down on how much money I spend on make up). After looking at all of the pretty eye shadows and shade sticks I ended up getting my very first mineralize skin finish in Refined.

I LOVE MINERALIZED SKIN FINISHES!!

After the woman at the M.A.C. store explained what they were to me I was in love and knew that I had to have one. I never knew what mineralizes were all about but now that I know I am in love. This product gives my skin this amazing glow that I can not explain.

However, I do have two possible problems with it. No. 1: I do not think that this product last on my face for very long at all. I think that I will need to carry it with me and reapply it throughout the day. No. 2: I may be breaking out because of it. I have NEVER broken out because of a M.A.C. product EVER. I am hoping and I am about 90% sure that it is not the msf that broke me out but the new baby wipes that I used on my face last night. I am going to stop using the wipes for a while and then see what it is.

I hope that this helped anyone who was interested in purchasing a msf make up their mind. I loveee them and I plan on purchasing many more.

Paul Mitchell review

This past week I went "camping" I put it in quotes because it was not really camping I stayed in a cabin but to me that may as well be living outdoors on the ground. On my packing list it said to bring shampoo and conditioner (a no brainer right?), but here was the catch, it had to have no scent. I went all around town the day before my trip looking for a shampoo and a conditioner with no scent. I couldn't find one anywhere. The shampoo can't have scent because the scent will attract insects. Finally, I went by Patty's job and asked her if she knew of anything. Patty said she did not know of anything but pointed me to the travel sized section. After smelling all of the shampoos I came across one that just smelled...clean!

Paul Mitchell Moisture!

This shampoo and conditioner smell very light and clean and do not leave your hair with that very overbearing smell. The bottles say that they are for daily treatment and provide instant moisture. I used these products the whole week and I was very satisfied. For such small sizes they were a little pricey but of course with Paul Mitchell you are paying for the name.
shampoo: $5.59
conditioner: $8.99
Try it out, you may like it!

I'm back!!

I am sorry that I was away for a while, but...I am back now!!!! I will be posting again and my birthday is this weekend so hopefully I will have some exciting things to share with you all!

Garnier Fructis

I have used soooo many products in my life so far that I could not even begin to count. About a year and a half ago I became obsessed with Garnier products and was on a mission to try every product in their "Fructis Style" line. I tried almost everything that they sold. I was in my bathroom doing my hair this morning when I realized how many products I had that I did not even use. I just thought that I would do a couple of list as a quick overview and then reviews will be coming later on the products that I like and even the ones that I don't like. Keep in mind that this is my opinion and all hair types differ, even though I say that I don not like a product does not mean that it is bad.

LOVE/ CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT
Garnier Fructis Leave-In conditioning cream-Curl and Shine
Garnier Fructis Curl construct mousse ( extra strong)

LIKE

Garnier Fructis Long and Strong leave-in Split end conditioner
Garnier Fructis Leave in Conditioning Cream-Sleek and Shine

Hate!!
Garnier Fructis Smoothing milk (strong)
Garnier Fructis Super Stiff Gel (Ultra strong)
Garnier Fructis Fiber Gum putty (extra strong)
Garnier Fructis Curl Shaping Spray gel
Garnier Fructis Curl Scrunch gel

Now these are only a few of the brand's products that I used, which shows I was truly obsessed, I will begin reviews on them soon.

Simonie : )
p.s. I am going to be on a trip for a week so this is my last post for a while. I will be posting as soon as I get back!!

Bio Oil

Has anyone out there ever heard of Bio Oil. The oil is supposed to remove scars. I bought this product a few months back to get rid of some scars on my legs but I was not very good with keeping up with applying it morning and night. I think that I am going to start using this product again. If I recall correctly it was not cheap. Let me know if any of you have used this product and how it worked for you.

Simonie : )

Lancome Le Crayon Khol review

This review will be short, sweet, and to the point. I HATE this eye liner. I think that this eyeliner looks messy and not even half way through the day gives you that raccoon look. I am sorry if this post upsets anyone who may happen to like this eyeliner but I simply hate it. I was just think about the fact that I have not been able to find this liner lately and I am actually HAPPY about it. I am never happy about losing anything, however, losing this eye liner makes me happy because if I knew where it was I just might be tempted to use it again simply because I personally have a problem with using a product just because it is there and ignoring what it does to me. Do not buy this eye liner!

Simonie : )
p.s. I was suprised that I did not like this eye liner because I like most of Lancome's products, just not this liner...and their brushes, (but that is another story.)

Don't all girls like to play dress up?

Weekend before last a good friend of mine had a birthday dinner. I loooovvvee going out to dinner with my friends and I especially love small dinner parties. I enjoy getting all dolled up to go out and just talk and have fun. I just thought that I would share this picture of me that I took before I left for the party. I wore my favorite pair of brown boots and a really cute sweater blouse (that you can not see because I am wearing my white Pea Coat, silly me!). I had on my favorite pair of dark blue jeans and my hair looked really cute. I wish that I would have gotten a close up picture of my eyes because this is the day that I went to Sephora and I used all of my new product this night. Tell me if you like the outfit.

Simonie : )

Finally a Kajal eyeliner review!

A while ago I told you all about the Kajal eyeliner by Stila that I got at Sephora. I used it for about two days and then I somehow lost it in Patty's car. lol. Today, a week later, I figured that it was most likely still in her car and that I should go look, and low and behold there it was in between the car seats. I was so happy to be reunited with it. I will start using this liner pencil again tomorrow.

So far I really like this liner and I like how it is easy to smudge right after you apply it so that it does not leave a harsh line, but it it also does not run underneath my eyes through out the day. I got it in Smokey Quartz which is a deep gray and I really like it. I have always used black and this is a little softer and I believe it creates a smokier look. Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and since I go to Catholic school we will have a liturgy. Liturgies are fun because everyone gets dressed up and secretly tries to out do the next person. Liturgy days are like a big fashion show, and I have my make-up look for tomorrow's walk down the run-way all planned out. haha.

I will have to use the liner for a few more days before I can do a comparative review but that is definitely coming!

Just wondering...

I washed my hair tonight and I was just thinking about how my hair can really get on my nerves sometimes. I am thankful for my hair. I know that there are so many amazing women out there who suffer from cancer and end up loosing their hair in chemo treatments who wish that they had their hair back. In this world with all of its problems hair is so trivial but I can not help but get so angry over my own. I have extremely thick and curly hair and the one thing that I hate about it is that by the end of the day it is completely frizzed out. I do not like putting a lot of product in my hair because I do not like for it feel heavy. I love my natural curls but I am looking for a way to have my hair lay down flat without ever having to use gel. I am trying a few different things but if anyone knows the trick to handling frizz PLEASE let me know.

Simonie : )

Here are the pictures.

Here are the pictures from the last post, my computer keeps messing up so I could not get the pictures and the written post all in one. Sorry.

It's crafts time again!

I did another cute little crafts project today. After washing my brushes I decided to paint the tops of the handles. A lot of free-lance make-up artist do this so that their brushes do not get confused with other people's brushes. I do not do free-lance work but it just seemed like a fun project to do this evening before the OSCARS. I took pictures every step of the way to show how I did this. What you will need for this project is nail polish, your brushes, and scotch tape.
Here are the steps:

1. Tape your brushes about an inch down from the top of the handle.

2. Paint from the top of the tape up to the tip.

3. Let paint dry.

4. Remove the tape.

You can use whatever nail polish you like. Whatever color you use make sure that it is one that you can remember so that you can easily identify yours. Like I said before you do not need a reason to do this other than you want to. I also have friends with brush sets and I do not want for mine to get confused with theirs.

Benefit creaseless cream shadow/liner review

In an earlier post I was talking about the free gift I got from Sephora with my beauty insider card. I got this cream eye shadow/ liner from Benefit that I mentioned I thought strongly resembled painterly paintpot from M.A.C. I was so excited to get this because I was wanting a light colored base just like this one. When applied all the way up to the brow bone underneath shadow this color is very beautiful. I usually NEVER apply color all the way up to the brow bone because I simply do not think that it looks good on me. This color is subtle and not over bearing. I think that if one wanted to do dramatic or think eyeliner one day they could use this color alone and then apply the liner so that they would not have a look of a heavy liner as well as a heavy shadow. The only thing that I do not like about this shadow is the fact that it smells horrible. The smell is enough to make one not even want to use it, however, do not count it out, give it a shot! Once you have used it you will learn to ignore the smell.

Smashbox bionic mascara review

Last night was my friend's birthday dinner and it was also the first time that I used my new mascara. In my last post I told you all what the mascara was supposed to be able to do, the mascara being the bionic mascara by Smashbox. I was amazed by this mascara! I did not think that it was going to work as well as it did. I applied two coats of the product on my lashes and they looked sooooo long. I went to show my mom and she thought that I had put on false lashes. I am not going to say that I will never again use any other mascara or that I am not still looking for new mascaras all the time, I am just saying that this mascara keeps its promises. Of course, I did not get the exact look that I wanted from the mascara, however, it came pretty close. I have come to terms with the fact that my expectations for a mascara are way to high. This mascara made my lashes extremely long but it did not really make them any thicker. On a scale from one to ten I would give this mascara a 8.

Just what I've been waiting for...

So I had a four day weekend this weekend and I also got paid! I was not going to let this weekend pass by without having been to Sephora. After Mass this morning I asked my parents if we could stop by sephora so that I could pick up a couple of things and get a present for my friend for her birthday. I knew that there were two things that I needed and a few things that I wanted. I know, I know that the word NEED should not be used when talking about make-up because everything that I need the Lord has already provided for me, and I believe this with all of my heart, however, to a 16 year old girl make-up can sometimes seem like a necessity. : ). When I walked into Sephora I knew that I was looking for a mascara and the kajal eyeliner from Stila. I found a chart with about 20 mascaras on it and a key at the top telling you wahat each one could do. I was looking for a mascara that would be thickening, legthening, and seperating. Many did one or two of the three but I saw one that did all three. When I went into the store I was planning on purchasing Givenchy Phenomen' eyes mascara. When I looked at the chart it did not do all of the things that I needed it to do for me as a mascara, and it was also a little more than I wanted to spend. After talking to the extremely sweet woman who was working there I decided on the Bionic Mascara by smasbox. This mascara was $19.00 which was just the right price. I was so excited. One product down and one to go. I went to the Stila section and the woman who was over there told me that I would probably like the liner in smokey quartz. After she did a swatch on my hand I was sold. The eye liner was $18.00. I ended up buying those two products and with my beauty insider card I was eligible for a free gift. I got a creaseless cream shadow/liner by benefit which resembels painterly paint pot by M.A.C., which was going to be my next purchase, so I am very excited that I got that as a gift. I am going out tonight for a friend's birthday dinner so I will be using all three of these products. I can not wait to try them and do some review! My next purchase will be something by the Hello Kitty collection at M.A.C.

I did it!

I finally did it. I finally tried NARS! Yesterday my daddy took me to the city and I got to go and get my make-up done at the NARS counter. I was going to an event later in the evening so I got to have my make-up done for that. I loved how the products felt and how they looked on my skin. Everything was so light weight and I could not even feel it on my skin. I love how pigmented their eye shadows are. I loved the colors that she used on my eyes so much that my dad was kind enough to buy me a duo. I am hooked on this line now and will definitely be purchasing more from them when I get the chance. The woman gave me a sheet with all of the products that she used on me and I will slowly be purchasing them. I could not be happier with the eye shadows that I got. I can't believe that I finally did it!

These are the pictures

Arts and crafts time!

As pictured to the right I made a brush holder. I had been wanting to make this for a while now and I thought that I was going to have to spend some money that I should be saving and go buy all of these supplies. I can say that I was plesantly suprised when I realized that all of the materials that I needed were already in my house! My mother had a surgery a few weeks ago and she has gotten loads of flowers and so we had tons of vases. My dad had some container from who knows where with marbles in it and then I just found some ribbon that was lying around the house. The only materials that are needed to make this are a vase, shape does not matter, but it must be short, marbles or even tiny rock or stones will do, rice works also, ribbon, and all of your make-up brushes. I do not have many brushes because I am not a person who loves to get new brushes and likes to have duplicates of one brush. I just have a few eye shadow brushes, that is including crease brushes and highlighter brushes, my foundation and powder brushes, a concealer brush, a blush brush, and an angled eyeliner brush. For those people who have way more brushes than me one vase may not be enough. I have seen a few people do different variations of this brush holder and some people have two or even three of them. All that is done is marbles are put inside of a vase about half way to 3/4 of the way full and the brushes are stuck down into it. Depending on what is put in the vase will determine how well the brushes stand up and stay up. The ribbon is simply for decoration and serves no purpose however, I think that it is fun to pick out a ribbon and tie a pretty bow onto your vase! Before I made this all of my brushes were all over the place and this is great for organization purpose, not to mention it is super cute! I had fun making this and I would recommend this for a fun little project. Everyone should just remember to check around your house before going out and purchasing all of these materials because you will most likely have them already! Happy crafting!

A product that doesn't test on animals!? Sounds like my kind of make-up!

Has anyone heard of the brand e.l.f. (eyes, lips, face)? I had heard about this brand a while back but did not think anything about it. I just found out that almost everything on their web-site is only a dollar. they have eye shadows for a dollar, lashes, brushes and much more. These products are also not tested on animals and if you purchase a set of free tweezers for $10, 50% of the proceeds will go to PeTA!!! I am really thinking about trying out some of their products. You can't go wrong with products at a dollar! If anyone has tried these products let me know what you think about them.

HiP-high intensity pigments color truth cream eyeliner review

I have been watching tons of YouTube videos by tons of make-up lovers and gurus just for fun for a while now, (I look at a few different videos everyday, I am addicted) when I began realizing that a product everyone universally liked was this eye liner. In my earlier post I was talking about how I was on a quest to find the perfect shampoo, but I have been on the quest to find the perfect eyeliner for much longer. I want a liner that is long lasting and does not smudge. I had heard a lot of my friends saying that M.A.C. fluidline was very good so I went to check it out. However, after watching more videos and realizing that I really did not want to spend that much money on a product that I was not even sure if I would like, I made a trip to Long's Drugs. I was so shocked when I saw the sign saying HiP products buy one get one free. I believe that the eyeliner was $11.99, but then I got another one for free! I know that some may say it was not free because you still had to buy one, but I guess I am just a sucker for a buy one get one free sign. I was sooo happy that I found such a good value. I got one in brown and one in black, and I wish that I would have gotten it in a more exciting color rather than brown. I believe the colors that they have are brown, black, teal, midnight blue, and eggplant. I got this eyeliner a few weeks back so unfortunately the sale is over. : ( I apply the liner with my M.A.C. 266 brush which is just a angled brush and I usually use it on my top lash line, and use a black eye shadow on my bottom water line. I will admit that I do not use the liner on my bottom lash line or water line because the look was too harsh for me, and it seemed to smudge. Another downside is that the brush that the eyeliner comes with is extremely harsh, even after washing and it seemed to really irritate my eyelid. The brush seemed like it was cutting the outer corner of my eye, so if you do use this product I would recommend using a different brush. One other thing to keep in mind is that a little bit goes a very long way with this eyeliner. On a one to ten scale I would give this product a seven, but I am still looking for the perfect no smudge pencil. If anyone knows of one PLEASE let me know.

Should I buy into the hype?

So I have just been getting into the whole idea of needing a primer for my eyes before I apply my eye shadow. I realized that my eye shadow was not even lasting half of the and all of the color would become gross and would crease. I went to the M.A.C. store and I asked them what I could use as a base for my eye shadow and they recommended a paint pot. After I purchased the paint pot I started to research more bases and I realized that they are in a way broken up into three groups. There are cream shadows, primers such as M.A.C. prep and prime and urban decay primer potion, and then there are bases such as paints and paint pots. At first I knew that the paint pot made a difference, but it also has color so it changes the color of my eye shadow. I do not want the color of my shadow to change I just want for it to stay on. I am afraid that I am going to get too caught up in the whole shadow base phenomenon and waste a lot of money on a bunch of different bases. What do you think? Do you think that a base really makes a difference?

On a quest to find the perfect shampoo

Lately I have been on a quest to find the perfect shampoo for my hair. I recently took a close look at the end of my hair and I saw that my ends are EXTREMELY split. My hair is about four inches past my shoulder blades when it is straight. So here is my dilemma: I want to find a shampoo and conditioner that will heal my split ends so that I do not have to cut it. My hair grows. However, it grows very slowly. Patty and I have the same goal where we both want to get our hair very long. I need a conditioner right away because I am washing my hair and leaving it natural without putting any heat in it. I have extremely thick and curly hair so it takes a lot of conditioner for just one washing. I have tried just about every shampoo for split ends but most of them were a bust. A shampoo that really helped at the time was Garnier Fructis. This shampoo healed my split ends as well as made my hair grow. However, after using it for a while it stopped working on my hair. I want long hair so that I can do a lot of different styles with it. I OF COURSE looooovvveee Kim's hair and want my hair to have some of the qualities that her hair does, but I also like other styles. See the pictures of Lauren London, Cassie, Carrie Underwood, and Taylor Swift. I do know that some of these ladies wear hair extensions, but I would like my natural length to match their length with the extensions.
